FIRST LEGO League ~ New Mexico Qualifying Tournament

Referee Mike. Tessa is somewhere judging research projects.

The kids ages 9-14, have to build a NXT LEGO robots to perform missions on the competition mat. Mike is setting up the missions. The robots have to pick up certain items and bring it to the other side of the mat. It can also move items and drag or push it to where it belongs to score points.

This is what the robots look like. They attach whatever they want to either carry stuff or push items. These kids program the robots to perform distinct missions. Too smart for their own good.

Two teams go at the same time. Most points win.

Two Years

We unknowingly bought each other the same card...but Mike read his first so he's the biter!

Election Day

5:59am, trapped inside the base trying to get to the school where our precinct is held, which is about 10 feet from outside the gate. We're trapped for 20 minutes, for reasons unknown to us. Third car...we almost made it out!

We had 188 voters come into our precinct! That's huge for us. (sad)

The privacy booths. Precint 258 was held in the elementary school library.

How may we help you?

The geriatrics we were working with for 14 very long hours. The one sitting in purple is the oldest and meanest of them all. Even the way she sits looks grumpy!

Mike was the designated tech guy, as usual.
